About Train Sim World 7

DB ICE 4 running at sunset on German high-speed rails in Train Sim World 7

Train Sim World 7 is Dovetail Games' 2026 train simulator for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Full launch is 15 September 2026, with Deluxe and Ultimate editions opening five days of early access from 10 September. Standard play covers three core routes: Airedale & Wharfedale in Yorkshire, Florida Tri-Rail from Miami Airport to Boca Raton, and Bahnstrecke Nürnberg to Würzburg. Deluxe layers on the Northern Class 333, the Tri-Rail GP49H-3, and the long-requested DB BR 412 ICE 4. New players should start with the getting started guide, finish the Training Center, then toggle beginner controls and learn Freight Hauler and Live Weather. Compare editions before you buy, check system requirements or Steam Deck notes, and read how compatible content from earlier Train Sim World titles carries forward. Use Creators Club once you have a Dovetail Live account. The launch page covers download order and early-access times; the roadmap tracks Tadami Line and later add-ons.

Quick start

New to Train Sim World 7? Follow these steps before you pick a route.

  1. 1

    Pick the right edition

Read the editions comparison before you buy. Free Starter is the Training Center only. Standard includes the three core routes. Deluxe adds three locomotives and five days of early access. Ultimate also bundles selected Train Sim World 6 Deluxe routes.

  2. 2

    Download in the right order

Follow how to download Train Sim World 7. The Free Starter Edition installs first; route add-ons download separately. Closing the game until those finishes is the usual fix for an empty menu.

  3. 3

    Set beginner or immersive controls

Use the getting started flow, then decide between beginner controls and the full cab. The controls reference lists keyboard, PlayStation, and Xbox bindings.

  4. 4

    Choose a first route

Yorkshire commuters belong on Airedale & Wharfedale. Sun and CSX freight belong on Florida Tri-Rail. High-speed and S-Bahn mix belongs on Nürnberg–Würzburg.

  5. 5

    Learn the new modes

After a few timetable runs, try Freight Hauler on a core route, then check compatible content so older add-ons layer in after full launch.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When does Train Sim World 7 launch?

Full launch is 15 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Steam, and Epic. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open early access from 10 September 2026. See the launch page for platform times.

Which edition should I buy?

Standard is the three core routes. Deluxe is the better value if you want ICE 4, Class 333, GP49H-3, and early access. Ultimate adds a bundle of older Deluxe routes. Compare them on the editions page.

Is Train Sim World 7 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?

No. Dovetail lists PC (Steam, Epic, Xbox for PC) and ninth-generation consoles only: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

Which languages are supported?

This wiki supports: English, Français, Deutsch, Español. Configure locales in site.meta.json and run npm run generate:i18n.

Will my old Train Sim World routes work?

Compatible add-ons need a Train Sim World 7 download when Dovetail marks them ready. Steam players can use them during early access; consoles wait for full launch. Read compatible content.

Where should a complete beginner start?

Claim Free Starter or Standard, finish Training Center, leave beginner controls on, then take a Class 331 stopping service on Airedale & Wharfedale. The getting started guide walks through that path.
