How to read this slate

Dovetail published the Train Sim World 7 roadmap in August 2026. It is a list of projects, not a weekly ship calendar. Only the Tadami Line had a public day at the time of that article: 29 September 2026, two weeks after full launch on 15 September. Everything else below is announced and in progress. When a store page gains a date, believe that page over this summary.

The launch window itself — Deluxe early access from 10 September 2026, Standard on the 15th, preload rules, download order — lives on the launch page. This page is what comes after you already own a core route. Client features that ship with TSW7 (menu, DX12, weather, FOV) are at the bottom so they are not mixed up with add-on names.

First dated add-on: Tadami Line

Union Workshop’s Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami is Japan’s debut in Train Sim World. 88 km of rural single track, 28 stations, river valleys, dams, and bridges, with seasonal dressing from cherry blossom to snow. Traction is the KiHa 40 diesel railcar in three liveries, including JNR orange, Niigata white and blue, and Tohoku white and green. Narrow gauge, Japanese signalling, and ATS are the new homework. Free Starter after 15 September is enough to buy the route; you do not need Deluxe.

Treat Tadami as a change of pace, not a replacement for Airedale & Wharfedale or Nürnberg–Würzburg. If you only have one evening in the launch window, drive a core route first and wishlist Tadami for the 29th.

Partner routes already in motion

These were the in-progress add-ons called out in August 2026, each with a named studio:

• Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg–Neckarelz (TSG). 53 km, 15 stations, set in 1974, electric main line plus BR 23 steam. TSG rebuilt firebox behaviour so steam generation and AI chuff match player feedback from earlier locos.
• Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle–Whitehaven (Just Trains). 1980s West Coast family, coastal running, Class 108 DMU, era wagons, freight and shunting.
• Rhein-Niers-Bahn (FolezzWorld). Freight-heavy German line, Chempark, Hochfelder bridge, industrial branches, yards, and the Rheydt–Viersen freight bypass.
• Lisbon–Setúbal (VirtuaVia360). First Portuguese route: Iberian gauge, CONVEL, UQE 3500, and the 25 de Abril Bridge out of Lisbon.
• Southern Pacific Ore Lines (High Iron Sim). US ore hauling from the High Iron desk, not a Florida reskin.

None of those five had a public day in the August article. They sit behind Tadami in the conversation, not necessarily in the build queue order.

Newly announced add-ons

The same Direct and roadmap also named a second wave:

• Birmingham–Shrewsbury (All Aboard Studios)
• Atlantic Coast: Par–Newquay (Brass Can Games), a new developer
• ÖBB Expert Railjet (TSG)
• NJ Transit Bergen Line (Dovetail Games)
• Northern Trans-Pennine remastered and Class 37 (PixelPunk), a new developer
• Amsterdam–Den Haag (Dovetail Games), a new Dutch route
• ECML King’s Cross (Alan Thomson Simulation)
• GWR Class 387 (Grump Dog Games)
• Northern Class 158 (Skyhook Games), aimed at layering onto Airedale & Wharfedale with the 331 and Deluxe 333
• Class 466 and Sheerness Branch (Firefly Simulations)
• DB BR 212 V100 (TSG)
• A Romanian route (Railforge), a new developer

Again: names, not dates. Bergen Line and Amsterdam–Den Haag are first-party Dovetail projects. Railjet and BR 212 extend TSG’s German and Austrian stack. Class 158 is the Northern DMU people will look for once the Yorkshire EMUs feel familiar. Do not delay buying Standard because Romania or King’s Cross appeared on a slide.

Seasonal update roadmap

Alongside add-ons, Dovetail described a seasonal update roadmap for winter and spring: larger client drops, requested features, mastery beats, and announcement clusters instead of a drip of tiny patches. Expect those checkpoints to talk about quality, not only new SKUs. This page will stay the add-on index; patch notes that change driving rules belong next to game modes and graphics settings when they land.

Client features that already come with TSW7

These are not later DLC. They ship with Train Sim World 7 for every edition:

• New TSW7 menu and faster loading.
• Field of view 60–120 degrees.
• Steam Cloud on PC.
• Steam Deck: Dovetail hoped for verification; do not buy a Deck only for this title until the badge exists.
• DirectX 12 as the PC path.
• DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4.
• Epic quality preset above Ultra.
• Enhanced Lighting on TOD4 routes.
• Live Weather, which needs a Dovetail Live account.
• Safety systems on by default.
• AI conductor for the conductor role.

Hardware floors are on system requirements. Upscalers and lighting toggles are on graphics settings. Beginner controls and Freight Hauler are the two play-loop features most people search in week one. Live Weather is optional; Freight Hauler is not tied to a Live login.

What not to wait for

If you are in the Deluxe early-access window, drive the three core routes and the three Deluxe locos. Tadami is the only add-on with a day on this page. Lisbon, ore, steam, Dutch, and Romanian projects are real and unfinished. Wishlist them. Do not treat an August 2026 slide as a promise that they ship in October.
