Train Sim World 7 System Requirements

Train Sim World 7 is a single-player simulator. The PC question is whether one machine can hold a route, not whether a second player can join. Dovetail’s FAQ table is the source for preset targets. The Steam store page still prints a shorter minimum and recommended block. This page puts both in one view so you can match a GPU to Low, High, Ultra, or Epic instead of guessing from a trailer.
Full launch is 15 September 2026. Deluxe and Ultimate editions open early access from 10 September 2026, which is when PC owners on those SKUs can test their own hardware against the real client. Console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series can skip the tables and go back to editions.

Dovetail’s FAQ lists four columns. Storage is 40 GB in every column. The operating system line is Windows 11. A footnote says you may need upscaling or frame generation to hit the Epic performance target.

Read the GPU column as a class, not a shopping list. An RTX 3060 with 12 GB is not in the table, but it sits between Recommended and Ultra for 1080p. A laptop 2060 with a short TGP will behave closer to Minimum than to desktop Recommended.
Steam store notes
Steam’s minimum block still lists 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11, the same i5-4690 / Ryzen 5 1500X CPU, 8 GB RAM, GTX 750 Ti or RX 460 with 2 GB, DirectX 10, and 35 GB storage. Recommended on Steam is the High column with 16 GB RAM and the same 35 GB line.
Two mismatches matter. FAQ storage is 40 GB versus Steam 35 GB: budget 40 GB for the client, then more for extra routes. The FAQ OS line is Windows 11; Steam still lists Windows 10 or 11. In-game, DirectX 12 is the default even though the store table prints DirectX 10. Tune that stack on graphics settings.
What each tier actually means
Minimum / Low / 720p / 30 fps keeps the cab readable on a last-gen 2 GB card. Use FSR 3 if you lack DLSS. Do not stack Epic, Enhanced Lighting, and frame generation there.
Recommended / High / 1080p / 60 fps is the honest desktop target. An RTX 2060 6 GB or RX 5700 8 GB should hold High at 1080p with DLSS or FSR Quality. Busy stations still spike the CPU; if GPU load is not maxed, lower traffic and view distance first.
Ultra / 1440p–4K / 30+ fps is an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 with an i5-11600K / Ryzen 5 5600X and 16 GB RAM. 4K on a 3070 still wants upscaling.
Epic / 4K / 30–60 fps asks for an i7-14700K or Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 5070 12 GB or RX 9070 16 GB. Epic extends draw distance and shadows. You may need upscaling and frame generation; the latter adds latency. Details sit on graphics settings.
Steam Deck
Dovetail hopes Train Sim World 7 is Steam Deck Verified around full launch. FAQ Deck settings: 1280x800, Medium, FSR Quality, frame generation on, 30 fps in-game, with the Deck performance menu at a 60 Hz cap. Treat 30 fps as the handheld budget. If Deck is your only PC, claim Free Starter and test the Training Center before you pay for Standard.
Practical buying notes
Put the install on an SSD. 8 GB RAM is the minimum; 16 GB is the first comfortable line; 32 GB is named only for Epic. Pick the SKU on editions before you resize a download: Ultimate needs more disk than the 40 GB FAQ figure.
