Train Sim World 7 is a single-player simulator from Dovetail Games. You drive, conduct, or walk a route on your own timetable. There is no shared cab with a second player, so every setting on this hub is for one machine and one driver.
Compare editions before you buy
Start with the edition comparison. Official Dovetail prices are Standard at £44.99 / €49.99 / $49.99, Deluxe at £64.99 / €79.99 / $79.99, and Ultimate at £114.99 / €129.99 / $129.99. Steam, Epic, and Xbox list a 10 percent pre-order or loyalty cut. PlayStation lists 10 percent with PlayStation Plus.
Free Starter is not a timed demo. It keeps the Training Center, Free Roam and Livery Designer on that centre, and Simplified Controls. After 15 September 2026 you can add the three core routes and the Deluxe locomotives as separate purchases instead of buying a boxed SKU.
Standard is the three core routes plus their included stock. Deluxe layers Class 333, ICE 4, and GP49H-3 plus the five-day early window. Ultimate also bundles Riviera Line, CrossCountry Class 220, Leipzig–Dresden, Nahverkehr Dresden, BR 294, Morristown Line, and NJ Transit ALP-45DP. Full stock lists sit on the editions page.

Check the PC before you chase Epic
The system requirements page copies Dovetail’s FAQ table and the Steam store notes. Minimum is Low at 720p 30 fps on an i5-4690 / Ryzen 1500X, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 750 Ti or RX 460. Recommended is High at 1080p 60 fps on an i5-9600K / Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 2060 6 GB or RX 5700 8 GB. Ultra is 1440p–4K on an RTX 3070 or RX 6800. Epic 4K wants an i7-14700K or Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 5070 12 GB or RX 9070 16 GB.
FAQ storage is 40 GB; Steam still prints 35 GB. The FAQ lists Windows 11; Steam also lists Windows 10. Steam Deck settings belong on the Steam Deck page: start at 1280x800, Medium, FSR Quality, frame generation on, 30 fps. Console players can skip the GPU table, then use how to download so add-ons finish before the menu opens.
Learn the beginner bindings
The controls reference is the beginner binding table for PlayStation, Xbox, and keyboard. Direction, throttle, brake, doors, horn, map, pause, and cameras are on one sheet. Beginner mode skips cab setup and works in Timetable and Free Roam at launch. Pair it with the simplified controls guide and getting started.
Tune graphics after the first run
PC players should finish one Training Center lesson, then open graphics settings. DirectX 12 is the default, with DLSS 4.5, FSR 4, Epic draw distance, Enhanced Lighting, and FOV from 60 to 120. High at 1080p is the honest target for a recommended card. Save Epic for the 5070 / 9070 class.
