What Creators Club is

Creators Club is the customisation hub in Train Sim World 7: Livery Designer, Formation Designer, Scenario Planner, and the Online Sharing Hub. It is free. A Dovetail Live account is required to open the hub, upload, and subscribe. Driving Timetable without paints does not need Live. Sharing does.

You can still paint and plan locally and never upload. Sharing is optional. Once you do upload, the copy sits in Dovetail’s cloud so an editable version can be pulled again if a local save vanishes.

Sharing is cross-platform on the Train Sim World 7 storefronts: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Epic. A PlayStation livery can be subscribed on Steam if both players own the underlying add-on. This is still a single-player simulator. Creators Club is not a shared cab. Other trains remain AI.

Open Main Menu > Creators Club. The designers live there. The Online Sharing Hub is the browse/upload tile. Dovetail Live must be signed in; if you skipped the splash screen, log in from Settings. Players need to be at least 16 to use the hub. Child accounts on consoles can hit extra store restrictions.

Livery Designer

Livery Designer is the in-game paint booth on every platform. You stack shapes and layers on a supported loco or coach. Start a new design rather than editing an official wrap. Pick the exact vehicle: route-specific versions of the same class can be separate models.

Use a saved livery on that vehicle in Timetable, Free Roam, or a scenario you built. It does not replace every copy of the class globally. Subscribed liveries can also appear at random on AI trains in Timetable if that option is active.

Not every cab is shareable. Licensors opt out. Dovetail’s restricted list has included ICE 3, ICE 3M, G6, and RABe 523: you can paint them locally, but you cannot upload. The TSW7 ICE 4 (BR 412) is not compatible with Livery Designer at all. Check deluxe locomotives before you plan a 12-car wrap. Core traction on standard locomotives is the safer first canvas: Class 331, Class 66, BL36PH, BR 440.

Approved operator brands may be used unaltered. Everything else must be fictional and original. No unlicensed trademarks, no offensive art, no external links in names. Report junk in-game; moderation can pull a mod from every subscriber while the creator keeps a local copy.

Free Starter includes Livery Designer on the Training Center. Practise there before you spend a evening on Yorkshire EMUs.

Formation Designer and Scenario Planner

Formation Designer (Main Menu > Creators Club > Formation Designer) builds consists from locos and rolling stock you own. Add New, name it, then Add Official or Add Custom. Duplicate, swap, reorder, delete, or flip a vehicle. Save. Those formations spawn in Free Roam and drop into Scenario Planner. Subscribed formations can be combined with your own.

Scenario Planner lets you set locos, destinations, and a brief, then drive it. Test the job and take Railfan Shots before you upload. If a subscribed scenario calls for liveries you do not have, default wraps are used; missing paints do not block play. Missing route add-ons do: the hub shows Required Content and a store link. You can still subscribe in advance.

Upload from the Online Sharing Hub: name, tags, description, and three screenshots. Browse Featured, Trending, Most popular, and Newest. Train Sim World 7 limits you to 100 subscriptions. Disk space still matters, but the cap is the subscription count, not an infinite library. Unsubscribe from the Subscriptions tab. You cannot edit someone else’s mod. You can update your own; subscribers receive the new version next time they are online.

Mastery Rewards, Photo Mode, and the PC Editor

Mastery Rewards sit under Main Menu > Live > Mastery Rewards. They are not Creators Club uploads. Tier 1 can unlock extra decals for Livery Designer. Tier 2 unlocks route overlays that change how a map looks; toggle the overlay from the same menu. Progress comes from Mastery Challenges and needs Dovetail Live. Monthly challenges continue in TSW7; new-route challenges are being wound down toward a seasonal mix.

Photo Mode is a separate creative tool. It is for shots, not for sharing liveries. Railfan Shots used on an upload are still captured in a normal session.

PC Editor is not Creators Club. The Editor is the Unreal Engine 4 toolset on Windows, distributed through the Epic Games Store, and aimed at people who already know Unreal. It is PC-only. Creators Club designers run on consoles and PC. Do not wait for the Editor to paint a Class 331; use Livery Designer. Do not expect the Editor to replace Formation Designer on Xbox.

Live Weather also wants Live, but it is meteorology, not paint. Finish getting started and a Class 331 stopper on Airedale & Wharfedale before you treat the hub as the game.
